Hard disk recovery
We recover data from hard disk drives (HDD) of all major manufacturers, including WD, Seagate, Toshiba, HGST and Samsung, regardless of the nature of the failure or the device in which the disk was installed.
Every recovery begins with a diagnosis of the fault. Where damage to the mechanical or electronic components is identified, the disk is temporarily repaired so that its data can be read. The data is then copied to a healthy storage medium by reading the disk sector by sector.
Upon completion, we provide a list of the recovered files, or arrange a remote session so that you may verify the recovery yourself. The data is then delivered to you on a storage medium appropriate to its volume.
Types of failure
- Logical failures: lost partitions, deleted data, virus damage, operating system reinstallation, corrupted databases
- Electronic failures: overheating, short circuits
- Read/write head failures: read or write errors, usually accompanied by unusual sounds (clicking, beeping)
- Motor failures: typically indicated by a grinding sound as the disk attempts to spin up
- Firmware failures: the disk is not recognised or its data cannot be read
- Bad sectors: severe slowdowns and repeated automatic disk checks
Charges apply only when your data has been successfully recovered.
